Attending the 2027 Shenzhen CIC Conference in Person?

Tour Information TBA

Following the successful convening of the First Academic Conference in 2023 and the Second Academic Conference in 2025, the Third Academic Conference hosted by CIC (CAPA in China) will be held in Shenzhen on September 3-5, 2027.

In the present era, we collectively face a "Myriad World" characterized by uncertainty, acceleration, and complex transformations. Against the contemporary backdrop of continuous social change and the intertwining of diverse cultures, the inner world of the individual is undergoing profound reshaping and adjustment. Widespread anxiety, relational alienation, the exploration of meaning, and the construction of subjectivity have become the shared psychic realities of our time. These experiences do not remain confined to the individual; they permeate psychic life, interpersonal relationships, institutional structures, and the cultural imagination, deeply influencing how people experience suffering, respond to challenges, seek connection, confront loss, and continue to harbor hope.

Psychoanalysis, with its enduring concern for the relationship between intrapsychic conflict and the subject’s historical moment, is once again called upon to understand the psychic conditions of contemporary life and to respond at clinical, cultural, and ethical levels. This congress aims to establish an open and profound platform for dialogue, inviting all participants to explore how a unique "Eastern Mind" can observe and respond to these challenges within a global context. We encourage drawing wisdom from the deep heritage of Chinese culture to explore how psychoanalytic theory and practice can engage in creative dialogue and integration with local Chinese experiences, philosophical thought, social structures, and cultural narratives.

CIC has long been committed to advancing the development and dialogue of psychoanalysis in China, and the Academic Conference is one of its important platforms.

We cordially invite you to participate in this conference and share your thoughts and practices around the theme:
