The theme for the 3rd CAPA In China Academic Conference: 

"Myriad Worlds, Eastern Mind: Psychoanalysis and Chinese Narratives"

We welcome submissions that explore, but are not limited to, the following areas of reflection:

 

• Uncertainty and the Future: How can subjects settle the mind and body and maintain vitality in an era of transformation?

​

• Anxiety in Contemporary Life: How does psychoanalysis understand and intervene when anxiety shifts from an individual symptom to a pervasive social atmosphere?

​

• Loneliness, Attachment, and New Forms of Relationship: The reshaping of intimacy and separation in the digital media age and its impact on interpersonal connection.

​

• Trauma, Mourning, and Repair: How do individuals and societies metabolize challenges, conflicts, and loss amidst change, and move toward psychic repair?

​

• Youth and Emerging Subjectivities: What psychic challenges and subjective constructions characterize the younger generation under diverse social conditions?

​

• Psychoanalysis in the AI Era: How does psychoanalytic thought respond to new questions concerning the mind, representation, and human singularity posed by artificial intelligence?

​

• Difference, Differentiation, and Coexistence: How can psychoanalysis contribute to thinking about conflict, otherness, and the difficulties of living together?

​

• Psychoanalysis and Medicine/Psychosomatic Medicine: Focusing on the psychic dynamics behind somatic illnesses and exploring the application and value of psychoanalysis in clinical medicine.

​

• Psychic Experience in Chinese Cultural Contexts: Exploring how Chinese family dynamics, intergenerational transmission, traditional wisdom, and modern psychological needs converge and reshape psychic life.

 

This conference is more than just a title; it is the establishment of a field of inquiry, the opening of a space for dialogue, and a gathering of practitioners and thinkers around the most urgent issues of our time.

We sincerely invite you to submit original, profound, and inspiring lecture proposals. We look forward to gathering with you to explore the "Eastern Mind" within the "Myriad World" and to co-write the "Chinese Narratives" of psychoanalysis.

Guidelines for Presentation Submission

Submission Formats:

You may share your insights in the following formats:

 

  1. Paper Presentation (40 minutes, including Q&A/discussion) 

  2. Panel (80 minutes of in-depth discussion, with 3–5 speakers exploring the same topic)

 

Please note: The organisers may adjust presentation duration based on the number of submissions.

Content Requirements:  ​​

  • Submissions should relate to the conference theme and present your original thinking or practical achievements. 

  • If case material is involved, please strictly follow confidentiality and ethical guidelines. 

  • Accepted types of papers include:

    • original empirical research (quantitative or qualitative)

    • theoretical articles

    • case studies

    • technical introductions and discussions

    • book/film reviews, etc.

Preparation for Submission:​

  • Only an abstract (Chinese and English) is required. After the abstract is accepted, the presenter should prepare the oral presentation independently. 

  • Authors must use their real names, and the presenter must be able to attend the conference and deliver the presentation on site. 

  • Abstracts are limited to 600 Chinese characters, accompanied by 3–5 keywords. An English version of both abstract and keywords should be provided, corresponding to the Chinese text. 

  • Please follow the "Format Instructions for Submissions" below.

Report Format​​​​​

We strongly encourage presenters to attend in person.

​

For overseas experts or panels involving international participants, online presentations may be arranged upon specific discussion with the Academic Committee and the Conference Organising Committee, subject to the internet capacity of the venue.

Format Instructions for Submissions

Once your paper is accepted, please complete registration and payment according to the conference registration procedures so that your presentation can be scheduled. The fee structure is the same as for all conference participants (details will be provided in the subsequent conference announcement and emails from the Academic Committee).

Guidelines for Submission Formats:

1. The subject line of your submission email should state: "CIC2027 Submission + Author Name".

 

2. Submission documents should include two files: Abstract and Cover Letter, both in Word format, sent as attachments.

 

3. The Academic Committee will conduct a blind review based on the Abstract; therefore, no author name or affiliation should appear in the Abstract. The body of the Abstract should include the presentation title and submission date. The file should be named as "Presentation Title + Submission Date".

 

4. The Abstract should present the content and academic significance of the proposed presentation. It should be no longer than 600 Chinese characters, with 3–5 keywords. Both abstract and keywords must be accompanied by their English versions.

 

5. The Cover Letter file should be named as "Presentation Title + Submission Date + Author Name", and include:

  a) The names and affiliations of all authors / presenters, as well as a brief biography (no more than 200 words) in both Chinese and English;

  b) The author's telephone number and email address for contact purposes (these will not appear in the conference program);

  c) An originality statement: "I hereby declare that, except for the cited references indicated, the content of this presentation is my own original work. The conference organisers shall not bear any consequences arising from intellectual property disputes."

 

We look forward to writing the "Chinese Narratives" of psychoanalysis together with you in Shenzhen, September 2027.
