From Chengdu to Shanghai, the flame of psychoanalysis has traversed mountains and seas, igniting a transformative blaze.

After two months of open submissions, rigorous peer review, and expert deliberations, we proudly unveil the conference theme that unites scholarly depth and practical relevance: “Rooting, Branching, Fruiting: The Evolution of Psychoanalysis in China.”

We cordially invite you to the 2nd CAPA in China Academic Conference, to be held at the Shanghai Everbright International Hotel from November 14 – 16, 2025.

Join us a we commemorate this 20-year-spanning intellectual celebration!

2005: Prof. Elise Snyder planted the seeds of Sino-American psychoanalysis in Chengdu.

2023: The inaugural CAPA In China Academic Conference drew over 300 mental health practitioners and clinicians nationwide to explore psychoanalytic theory amid cultural collisions. CAPA faculty from the U.S. shared clinical expertise—both in-person and online—sparking profound dialogues with Chinese peers. This was not merely a symposium of knowledge but a catalyst for professional evolution.
