Call for Papers：

2nd CAPA In China Academic Conference 

Since launching China’s first psychodynamic psychotherapy training program in September 2008, CAPA (China American Psychoanalytic Alliance) has cultivated hundreds of practitioners nationwide. CAPA members now serve as leading translators of psychoanalytic literature and faculty for domestic training initiatives.


CIC (CAPA In China) emerged from CAPA’s growing legacy. Comprising CAPA’s current students and alumni, the CIC Development Committee is democratically elected to advance members’ professional growth, uphold ethical standards, and promote psychodynamic therapy and psychoanalysis in China.

The first CAPA In China Academic Conference successfully concluded in Chengdu in 2023.

​

As we commemorate this milestone, we sincerely invite you to participate in the 2nd CAPA In China Academic Conference in 2025.​​

Theme:

The theme for the 2nd CAPA In China Academic Conference is​ "Rooting. Blossoming. Bearing Fruit: The Development of Psychoanalysis in China"

Plenary Topics:  ​​

  • Sinicization of psychoanalysis

  • Psychoanalytic developments in the new era

  • Theoretical innovations in psychoanalysis

  • Clinical applications of psychoanalytic techniques

  • Psychoanalysis with children and adolescents

  • Interdisciplinary dialogues with neuroscience and brain science

  • Evidence-based research in psychoanalysis

  • Ethical considerations in psychoanalytic practice

  • Psychoanalytic education and training

  • Other relevant topics in psychoanalysis

​We particularly welcome practitioners from diverse clinical settings sharing their experiences derived from practice.  

Submission Formats

Submission Formats:

  1.  ​Keynote Lecture (45-minute presentation with Q&A)​

  2. Thematic Workshop (90-minute in-depth discussion, featuring 3-5 co-presenters)

 

Note: The organizing committee reserves the right to

adjust presentation schedules based on submission volume. ​​​​​​​

Important Submission Guidelines  

Content Requirements:  ​​

  • Original contributions that align with the conference theme, demonstrating innovative theoretical or practical achievements

​​

  • Strict adherence to confidentiality and ethical standards when presenting case studies​​

Accepted manuscript types: ​

  • Case reports

  • Book/movie reviews

  • Theoretical papers

  • Technical methodological discussions

  • Other psychoanalytic-related content 

  • Empirical studies (quantitative/qualitative)

Preparation Requirements:​

  • Submit Chinese and English abstracts (600 Chinese characters max + 3-5 keywords). Full presentation materials will be prepared independently after abstract approval.

​​

  • Authors must present in person using their real names.  

​​

  • Abstracts should include:

    • ​Research theme

    • Submission date

    • Author name(s) and affiliation excluded for blind review

    • Corresponding English translation of abstract and keywords

When the Academic Committee has received a sufficient number of high-quality abstracts. The exact closing date will be announced via the conference portal.

2. File naming convention:

  • Abstract: [Theme] + [Submission Date].docx​​

  • Cover Letter: [Theme] + [Submission Date] + [Author Name].docx​

Cover Letter Requirements:

  • ​Author profiles (name, institution, 200-word bio) in both Chinese and English

​​

  • Contact information (phone/email) – *Note: Will not appear in official materials

​​

  • Originality declaration: "The author(s) affirm that this work is original except for properly cited sources. The conference organization assumes no liability for intellectual property disputes."

Post-Submission Requirements:

  • Mandatory registration and fee payment upon acceptance to secure presentation slot.

​​

  • Fee structure aligns with general participant rates (详见 conference notification).
