Infant Observation Program (IOP)

The Infant Observation Program is open to students at all levels of CAPA Training. This course provides first-hand knowledge of early life and teaches close observation, necessary in all therapeutic endeavors. Infant Observation is limited to five students, and applicants will be reviewed and admitted on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no limit to the number of applications accepted. Once the five spaces in the program have been filled, CAPA will maintain a waitlist for any additional applicants.  Students who enroll must be willing to conduct video or video-chat observations if in-person observation is not possible.

Teacher Apprenticeship Program (TAP)

The Teacher Apprenticeship Program (TAP), a no cost training opportunity, will allow CAPA’s Advanced Training graduates to learn best practices for teaching psychoanalytic/psychodynamic theory and technique and observe an experienced CAPA faculty member.  This is a two-year program providing the opportunity to participate first by attending TAP Lab – An Integration of Theory and Practice, and then by observing and perhaps teaching a CAPA class session.  Upon completing the first year of TAP Lab and the second year of at least one trimester (10 sessions) of observation, CAPA will email a certificate of participation to each Apprentice and encourage them to explore ways to use this experience to support the Psychoanalytic community in China.
