Instructions for CAPA Two-Year Training Program

 

          We are delighted that you are applying for our Two-Year Training Program.

         

          Please begin by reading the below two documents:

The program consists of the following:

  1. •Thirty weeks of Skype audio-visual instruction a year

  2. •    1 and 1/4 hours a week theory class

  3. •1 and 1/4 hours a week technique class

  4. •1 and 1/4 hours a week continuous case conference

  5. •1 session (45 minutes) a week of individual supervision

  6. •3-7 days face-to-face training each year

  7. •CAPA & Chinese Psychological Association Certificates on graduation

  8. •All students receive a subscription to PEP Web

  9. •There will be reading assignments for each class

  10. •At the teacher’s discretion there will be an examination at the end of each trimester


        Students are expected to:

  1. •Attend all classes & Supervisory sessions

  2. •Complete all reading assignments

  3. •Email written assignments to the teacher if required

  4. •Participate in seminar style classroom discussions

  5. •Improve spoken English competence

  6. •Find appropriate long-term cases with the help of their supervisor

  7. •Use supervision to learn long-term psychotherapy; not for help managing inappropriate patients


            TUITION

  1. Our tuition is 12,500 RMB for the first year of training (12,000 RMB if paid before August 1, 2012). Some student loans are available.  After all students have been accepted, those in need can ask for a financial form and apply for financial aid. Two members of our Financial Aid Committee will interview those students requesting financial aid. Only those students in urgent need of a loan should apply for financial aid. We have a limited amount of money and a limited number of interviewers. Unnecessary applications for financial aid do not help either you or CAPA.


  3. After we have received your application for the Two Year Program, you will be interviewed by two members of our Admissions Committee.
